3. The General Assembly in 2007 passed legislation to provide a tax credit to businesses that create 10 or more jobs a year. Under this law, businesses receive a tax credit equal to 60% of their state withholding tax for those new jobs. I believe the General Assembly should adopt other pro-jobs proposals, such as:
Reducing burdensome regulations by requiring a comprehensive cost/benefit analysis for every regulation in
Connecticut.
Reviewing state mandates on businesses with the goal of eliminating those that are unnecessary such as health insurance mandates (i.e. infertility treatments, wigs for cancer patients, special formula for children) and
reforming workers’ compensation. |
