Andrew Roraback, R-Goshen, Representative Clark Chapin, R-New
Milford, and Representative Mary Ann Carson, R-New Fairfield,
today announced that the state Department of Motor Vehicles
will re-open its New Milford branch several months after closing
it due to budget constraints.
The local DMV office, located at the Fleet Bank, 100 Park
Lane, will be open the second Wednesday of each month from
8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and from 1:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. The date
of the reopening for this office is October 8th. License
transactions processed by the New Milford Photo License
Center are license renewals, duplicate licenses and name
changes.
“While
it would have been preferable to have this service restored
on a weekly basis, I am still pleased that the people of
New Milford will have this convenience available to them
once a month,” said Representative Chapin.
“In a
year when budget news has been nearly always bleak, I am
delighted that the DMV has listened to the people of New
Milford and restored this much needed service,” said
Senator Roraback.
“I am
pleased to see the DMV has recognized that this is a facility
that needs to reopen. I want to thank the commissioner
of DMV and Governor Rowland for making this happen,”
said Representative Carson.
