Senator William H. Nickerson (R- Greenwich) joined Governor Jodi Rell today in announcing $76,299 in current matching grants awarded to non-profit arts organizations in Stamford. This supplements earlier awards made in July 2007. The funds were paid by the Commission on Culture & Tourism and allocated as part of the Governor’s Cultural Treasures Initiative.

Nickerson said “I am delighted to support the state’s investment in these organizations. Support for local arts organizations is a vital part of the state’s commitment to its citizens.”
The grants can be applied to any aspect of an organization’s daily operations, including administrative and/or programming costs.
