“It gives me great pleasure to announce
the nomination of John Blawie to the Superior Court,”
said Sen. McKinney. “John is an exceptional choice.
I have known him since childhood and he is intelligent,
dedicated and, perhaps most important, a man of unparalleled
integrity. He would make an excellent Judge of the Superior
Court.”
According to the legislators, John Blawie
has earned an impeccable reputation for sound decision-making
and praise from his colleagues while a State’s Attorney
in charge of Connecticut’s Economic Crime Unit. “It
is my firm belief that John would be a great asset to our
judicial system,” said Sen. McKinney.
"Mr. Blawie's background and experience
in the legal profession make him uniquely qualified for
an appointment as a Superior Court Judge," said Rep.
Wasserman (whose district includes Sandy Hook). "He
has a reputation for fairness, the respect of his fellow
attorneys and a love for the law that will serve him well
on the bench. I fully support his nomination to be a Superior
Court judge and I strongly recommend his confirmation to
my colleagues in the state House and Senate."
Mr. Blawie’s nomination now goes to
the legislature’s Judiciary Committee, before heading
the floor of the House and Senate for final approval.
