State Senator Rob Kane (R-32) and Representative Sean
Williams (R-68) provided information to residents of
Watertown and surrounding communities who attended their
recent mortgage assistance seminar at Swift Middle School.
“I believe that everyone who joined us found
the event helpful and informative. Our guest speakers
were excellent, and the people who attended told us
that they appreciated the opportunity to learn about
available mortgage assistance programs. Rep. Williams
and I have hosted several different types of well-received
informational seminars, but I believe that this one
is probably the most important to date because of the
economic climate. We understand that there are probably
many interested people who were not able to attend.
Please, do not hesitate to contact us if you need the
information provided at the seminar. I can be reached
at my legislative office in Hartford at 1-800-842-1421,
or via e-mail to
Rob.Kane@cga.ct.gov,” said
Senator Kane.

Senator Rob Kane addresses area residents who attended the recent mortgage assistance seminar he co-hosted with Representative Sean Williams at Swift Middle School in Watertown. |
“Connecticut’s economy has not improved
significantly over the past year and a half, unemployment
has risen above 8 percent again, and with Pratt &
Whitney poised to close its East Hartford and Cheshire
plants and lay off 1,000 employees, we’re likely
to see more people falling behind on their mortgage
payments and facing foreclosure in the months ahead,”
Representative Williams said. “We discussed several
new programs during our seminar that were enacted during
the 2009 legislative session to help homeowners threatened
with foreclosure restructure their loans and stay current
on their mortgage payments. If you were unable to attend
our seminar and would like to learn more about how the
state can help if you are in danger of losing your home,
please send me an e-mail requesting the information
at sean.williams@housegop.ct.gov or call my office at 1-800-842-1423.”
