| Senator Rob Kane (R-32) offered his
congratulations to Seymour Middle School student Timothy
Rinkerman on being chosen to participate in the People
to People Presidential Inauguration program.
Timothy, an eighth grader, recently returned from
a People to People program trip to England, Scotland,
Wales and Ireland. He was chosen, along with other returning
People to People travelers, to witness the swearing
in and inaugural address of President-elect Barack Obama
in Washington, D.C. on January 20th.
People to People International was founded in 1956
by President Dwight D. Eisenhower to promote cultural
understanding and world peace by helping to make it
possible for people from around the world to interact
with each other. The organization, headquartered in
Spokane, Washington, offers programs for students, educators
and professionals.
“Timothy learned a great deal during his People
to People program trip to Europe, and I am sure that
he will benefit just as much from his trip to witness
the inauguration of President-elect Obama. This is an
opportunity of a lifetime, and I wish him all the best.
Imagine all the information he will be able to share
with his classmates when he returns. I am sure that
his family and friends must be very proud of him,”
said Senator Kane, adding that Timothy Rinkerman is
13-years old.
