Leaders To Meet With Small Business Leaders In Southbury
Senator Rob Kane (R-32) will meet with small business
leaders to discuss the issues that affect them and to
discuss how the General Assembly can best address those
issues during the 2008 Legislative Session.
Senator Kane’s business forum is
scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, March 6,
2008, at the Crowne Plaza, 1284 Strongtown Road in Southbury.
“As a small business owner, and as a legislator,
I am very interested in how state laws and policies
affect Connecticut’s business climate and in what
the General Assembly can do to promote both the short-
and long-term health of our economy. The Senate Republican
caucus has already offered some intriguing proposals
for addressing these issues, including expanding the
2007 job credit tax program and eliminating the annual
business entity tax. I am looking forward to discussing
these proposals with small business leaders from our
region, and listening to their concerns and ideas,”
said Senator Kane.
Senator Kane was elected to represent the 32nd Senatorial
District in a January 15th special election. His district
includes the communities of Bethlehem, Bridgewater,
Middlebury, Oxford, Roxbury, Seymour, Southbury, Thomaston,
Watertown and Woodbury.
Senator Kane is the founder and president of KarTele
Cellular Phones in Waterbury. Presently he chairs the
Wolcott Street/Lakewood Road Business Association, served
as president of the Professional Network Organization
(Profnet), and has served as a member of the Board of
Directors of the Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce
since 1999.
