Senator Judith G. Freedman (R-26), the Chief Deputy Senate Republican Leader, is serving as a member of five legislative committees this year, and is the leading, or ranking Republican Senator, on two of those committees.
“We have been in session for a couple of weeks now and all of the legislative committees, including the ones on which I serve, are well into raising and hearing legislation. We have a great deal to do between now and when the session ends on May 7th,” said Senator Freedman.
Senator Freedman was recently named a member of the General Assembly’s Transportation Committee, which is the committee of cognizance over the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Transportation.
In addition, Senator Freedman continues to serve as the Senate ranking member of the Government Administration & Elections Committee which, among other issues, oversees legislation relating to ethics and elections. Senator Freedman also serves as Senate ranking member of the Select Committee on Children.
Senator Freedman is a long serving member of the Appropriations Committee. She is the Senate ranking member for the subcommittees on Higher Education and Lower Education.
She is a member of the General Assembly’s Legislative Management Committee which oversees the operation of the General Assembly. |
