Senator Freedman Urges Connecticut Residents to Take Advantage of Sales Tax Holiday Week

Senator Judith G. Freedman (R-26) is urging Connecticut residents to take advantage of this year’s annual sales tax free week for items of clothing and footwear that cost less than $300. This year’s tax holiday week is Sunday August 21 through Saturday, August 27.

“Our annual sales tax holiday week is a terrific opportunity for parents to get a break on the more expensive clothing and footwear items for their children who are heading back to school or college. Normally, the sales tax applies to items of clothing and footwear that cost more than $50, so this is always a great week to shop,” said Senator Freedman.

Senator Freedman urges state residents who have questions regarding the sales tax holiday week to check out the State Department of Revenue Services website at www.ct.gov/drs , call the department’s toll free number at 1-800-382-9463 or call her office, 1-800-842-1421 extension 8826.
