Senator Len Fasano, R-North Haven,
offered his congratulations to Sara Bennett, a fifth grader
at
Hamden Hall Country Day School, for her award winning entry
in the Secretary of the State’s 10th Annual Poster Contest.
Sara, who is among the more
than 1,000 fifth graders who participated in this year’s
contest, was awarded an Honorable Mention for her poster
during a ceremony held at the State Capitol on May 21st.
Contest participants submitted posters showing acts of good
citizenship in their communities.
“I was quite honored to
have been invited to the ceremony by Sara’s mother,
Sue Bennett, who is an art teacher at Hamden Hall., and
an alumnus of the school. Of course, Sara’s mother
is justifiably proud of her and I was thrilled that they
wanted to share this special occasion with me. The Secretary
of the State was gracious in inviting me to participate,
and I want to thank her as well,” said Senator Fasano.
“Congratulations, Sara.
Good citizenship is important, and taking the time to create
a poster that effectively shows people what good citizenship
is all about is something you can be very proud of. I appreciate
you, and your mother, including me in your special day,”
said Senator Fasano, who is an alumnus of Hamden Hall Country
Day School.
