LNG Task Force to Hold First Public Hearing in East Haven

The Long Island Sound Liquefied Natural Gas Task Force, chaired by Senator Len Fasano (R-North Haven), will hold a public hearing this Thursday beginning at 7PM at East Haven High School. Citizens will be able to address the Task Force members and pose questions regarding the implication of Broadwater Energy’s proposed Liquefied Natural Gas facility in Long Island Sound.

“Certainly a facility this size will have implications not only for Connecticut citizens living along the shoreline, but anyone who takes advantage of the Sound,” said Senator Fasano. “I want to be sure, as Chairman of this Task Force, that members are fully aware of Connecticut citizens’ view on this proposed project. I would encourage citizens from across the state to attend Thursday evening to express their views.”

A listing of future LNG Task Force informational hearings as well as future public hearings can be found on the Task Force’s website at www.ctlng.state.ct.us. The Task Force was formed this summer by Governor M. Jodi Rell through Executive Order #9 in order to address the implications of the Broadwater Facility, which would sit approximately 11 miles off the coast of Connecticut.

Senator Fasano is a Minority Leader who represents East Haven, North Haven, and Wallingford.
