SENATOR DELUCA GREETS LOCAL UCONN HUSKY

The Connecticut General Assembly held its annual "UConn Husky Day" on April 11, 2005, to celebrate the achievements of the University of Connecticut men and women's basketball teams. State Senate Republican Leader Louis C. DeLuca (R-Woodbury) was on hand to greet the players, including Southbury's own Jason Baisch, a 6'6" forward in his senior year.

"UConn Day is always a great time for those of us in the state legislature who follow the men and women's teams, because we get a chance to show these kids how much we appreciate the hard work they do all year representing the state of Connecticut," said Senator DeLuca. "This year I was particularly proud to welcome Jason Baisch, who has done a great job of showing everyone that even kids from small schools like Pomperaug High can go on to excel on the biggest stage when they are willing to work hard and put the team first."
