SENATOR DELUCA AND REP. LABRIOLA ANNOUNCE
$423,500 FOR OXFORD ROAD REPAIRS

State Senate Republican Leader Louis C. DeLuca (R-Woodbury) and State Rep. David Labriola (R-Naugatuck) announced today that the town of Oxford has been approved to receive a Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) grant in the amount of $423,500 to rebuild Christian Street, one of the main arteries in town. The grant funds will allow the town to begin the process of widening the road, along with repairing numerous potholes. This project is crucial to the town because Christian Street connects two state routes (67, and Airport Access Road) along with being the main road to the town's industrial park.

"This STEAP grant is a welcome infusion of funding for the town of Oxford, and it will help them complete a project of great importance not only to the town's public safety, but for its economic well-being as well," said Senator DeLuca. "These road repairs are an important step in ensuring that the town will have safe transit for those traveling to the commercial and industrial regions of Oxford. I thank Governor Rell for recognizing the importance of this project and approving the funds."

"This is great news for the people of Oxford," said Rep. Labriola. "Working together with Senator DeLuca and Governor Rell, securing this grant will promote much needed economic development in our community."
