State Senator David Cappiello (R-24 th ) and State Representative Janice Giegler (R-138th) are happy to announce that the State Bond Commission today approved two separate grants for projects in the City of Danbury today. Henry Abbot Vocational-Technical School was awarded $25,000, while the children's mental health clinic on West Street was awarded $42,000.
"Today's funding is just the beginning as we are working on even more improvements Henry Abbot Vocational-Technical School for our students," said Senator Cappiello. "We have students from all over the region attending, so we want them to learn in the best environment we can provide."
"We commend the Bonding Commission for its approval of two important grants to the City of Danbury," said Rep. Giegler. "Both Henry Abbott Tech and the Children's Mental Health Agency play an important role in the lives of Danbury's youth. It is difficult enough to provide our non-profit agencies and educational institutions with ample resources for their operating expenses, so capital improvement dollars are most welcome and very much needed."
The funding for the mental health clinic will be used for roof and gutter replacement, while the money for the Vo-Tech school will be put towards various alternations and improvements. |
