| Senator Sam Caligiuri (R-16) said
he is “disappointed and dismayed” by today’s
State Supreme Court decision stating that same sex marriage
is a legal right in Connecticut.
“I have always believed, along with most Connecticut
residents, that marriage is the union of a man and a
woman. I am disappointed and dismayed that the State
Supreme Court issued a decision stating otherwise,”
said Senator Caligiuri.
“With all due respect to the State Supreme Court,
this decision is an example of what can happen when
a court sets out to reach a certain conclusion instead
of adhering to existing law,” said Senator Caligiuri.
