| WILTON- State Representative
Toni Boucher, R-143, today said she was pleased to announce
that the Town of Wilton, Department of Social Services,
has been awarded $10,000 for the Wilton Senior Center’s
facility and program enhancements.
According to Wilton Social Services, the grant would
be used to accommodate the town’s seniors by providing
some much needed furniture and expand some of the few
but very popular activities.
Rep. Boucher said, “As Wilton has invested such
a great deal in its youth, let us not forget the seniors
in our community, who have given Wilton so much over
the years.” It gives me great pleasure to help
provide a few but much needed improvements Wilton’s
Senior Center and to the quality of life of our seniors
by requesting this small grant. I would like to thank
Governor Rell and Minority Leader Cafero for approving
my request and adding their support to the importance
and value of those that give so much to our community”.
First Selectman of Wilton, Bill Brennan said, “The
Town of Wilton is delighted to receive this grant that
will enhance programs offered to our senior citizens.
These funds will be used primarily to add additional
computer capacity and upgrade our equipment in our computer
Learning Center. We are most grateful for Toni Boucher’s
help in securing these valued funds.”
Wilton Social Services Director Cathy Pierce added,
"This grant will be used to provide much needed
access to and understanding of computer technology for
our seniors. The seniors of Wilton and the staff at
the Senior Center are very appreciative of this grant
and the effort directed at securing it.”
